Will This Work?
The chances are that you're going to spend some money on your business this year. Before we get into deciding whether your investments will work or will not work ( I hope it will), we should talk about exactly what it will look like if this investment "works" and by extension what it will look like if it does not "work".
Can you identify something that can be measured numerically that will indicate that your investment worked? I use these 7 things to measure of an investment in marketing works:
- Visibility - I use SEMRush to get this
- Visitors - Google Analytics works for this
- Leads - HubSpot
- Customers - HubSpot again
- Audience - email subscribers + followers on social platforms
- Revenue - obvi
- Promoters - Google Reviews or other platform that matters to you potential consumers
If you haven't setup baselines for what your numbers on these topics looked like in 2022, now is a really good time to do that.
