How to Show Up on Google
If your website is not showing up on Google, it’s because Google thinks someone else’s website is more likely to please people. It’s that simple (and that hard). Google shows the websites that it thinks people are most likely to want to see. It shows them in the order of likelihood it thinks people will want to see them, and it shows the information (pictures, text, tweets, etc.) that it thinks people are most likely to really want.
If you want your website to show up better on Google, you will need to convince Google that people will be happier seeing your website than they will be seeing some else’s website.
Here’s a brief description how you convince Google that people will be happier with your website than with your competition. I’ll go over each one in more detail in chapters to come:
- Be more relevant
- Be more authoritative
- Be more local
- Offer a better user experience
