How to Forward an Old Gmail Address to a New Gmail Address in 2023
Gmail Forwarding Checklist:
- Login to old Gmail Address
- Click on gear
- Click on See all settings
- Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP
- Click Add a forwarding address
- Enter the new email address and click next
- Follow any directions from gmail to confirm your right to do this forwarding
- Go to new email address and look for confirmation
- Click on Confirmation link in new email address
- Return to old email address and choose to forward email
- Click Save
- Test if it makes you feel better ;)

Just a quick note, there's no difference if you are forwarding to an @gmail.com email address or to an @yourdomainname.com address that is hosted by gmail:
